In 1822 Derbigny, Livingston and Lislet were commissioned to revise the 1808 compilation of territorial laws. The result of their effort was the Civil Code of 1825. Upton and Jennings's edition of that code is significant because it was the first to include annotations. Actually printed in Philadelphia by T.K. & P.G. Collins, this book was also issued in two single-language editions, one in English and one in French. (Some libraries list these two books as Volumes I and II.)
