Toning, minor worming in a few places with no loss to text, internally clean. Ex-Macclesfield library. Small shelf labels to spine ends, small embossed stamps to title page and a few leaves. A distinguished French Orientalist, Protestant minister and principal of the College of Arts in Nimes, Petit was a correspondent with the leading European men of letters and a friend of Selden, Gessendi and Vossius.
