Contemporary calf, blind rules to boards, lettering piece and blind fillets to spine. Some rubbing to extremities, a few minor scuffs to boards, chipping to head to spine, bookplate residue to front pastedown. Light browning and faint dampspotting to text, internally clean. A nice copy. $125. * First American edition, from the London edition of 1808, to which it is star-paged. Bradby's concise treatise presents a solid overview of distresses in the common law as practiced in the early nineteenth century. (Distresses arising out of statutes are not discussed.) The second and final American edition of this work, based on the second London edition, 1828, was issued in Volume 1 of the Law Library (1833). Bradby was a barrister of Lincoln's Inn.
