Moderate toning and occasional browning and light foxing to text, internally clean. $2,250. * This fascinating volume offers an excellent perspective on the formative years of Washington, D.C., from the 1803 "Act to Incorporate the Inhabitants of the City of Washington, in the District of Columbia" to 1818 legislation to pave roads in the district. This volume contains fifteen volumes of acts passed by the first fifteen governing councils. Eleven are titled Acts of the Corporation of the City of Washington (1803, 1804, 1805, 1806, 1807, 1808, 1809, 1811, 1813, 1814, 1816). The remaining four are titled Laws Passed by the Eighth [Twelfth, Fourteenth, Fifteenth] Council (1810, 1815, 1817, 1818).
