Loder, a distinguished Dutch jurist, was a member of the committee which drew up the statute for Permanent Court of International Justice at The Hague, was one of its original deputies (1921-22), and sat on its bench from 1921-1930, initially as its first President (1922-24). Furman was notable American poet.
