It reads, in part: "We the grand jurors... have become satisfied that the following persons are also guilty of a wicked and felonious rape, upon the body of Nancy Burns viz., Wm. Harper, Lorentine Miller, David McCummins and that proper measures be pursued for the arrest and punishment of these persons, whom we also learn have fled the country. The grand jurors further present, that ample proof has been given before them to show that some persons whose name are unknown to them have by bribes, threats and alarms, spirited away one of two or three very important witnesses in this very important matter..."
