Sometimes attributed incorrectly to William Sheppard, Small's manual reflects changes introduced during the Commonwealth. As suggested by its title, Aston's, first issued at the beginning of the Restoration in 1661, aimed to revive aspects of pleading that were discarded during the Civil War and Commonwealth. Small's manual is scarce. OCLC locates 6 co.
