Light toning, faint dampstaining, a few partial cracks to text block, text in small neat hand to rectos and versos of 66 pages, later annotations in pencil to endleaves and a few other places. $500. * Apparently a retrospective record, this ledger records court appearance records for Mifflin County, Pennsylvania from 1812 to 1839. This is an early docket book; the county was founded in 1789. The content is related exclusively to cases heard in this central Pennsylvania county, with hundreds of individual names and various institutions, such as the Turnpike Road Company, United States Bank, Juniata Bank and Lewistown Presbyterian Church. The entries include an "indictment for the murder of her child," an "indictment for larceny," and an "indictment for scaring defendants [who were] not guilty."
