Contemporary calf, blind fillets to boards, lettering pieces and blind fillets to spines, blind tooling to board edges. Some minor nicks and spots to boards, moderate rubbing to extremities, minor chipping to spine ends, joints starting, Volume I has split through center of backstrip, corners bumped and somewhat worn. Light toning, minor worming in a few places, minor tears to edges of a few leaves, some edgewear to table of descents. Small early signature to head of Volume I title page, interiors otherwise clean. A handsome set. $1,350. * "Sixth Edition." This pirated Dublin edition follows the text of the fourth Oxford edition, 1770.
