Contemporary calf, rebacked, blind rules to boards, blind fillets along joints, raised bands and gilt title to spine, repair to head of spine, endpapers renewed. Light rubbing and a few minor nicks and stains to boards, moderate rubbing to extremities with wear to corners, front hinge cracked, a few partial cracks to text block. Moderate toning to text, somewhat heavier in places, light browning to outer edges of margins. Ex-library. Library name gilt-stamped to foot of spine, small inkstamp to head of title page. A scarce title. $500. * Only edition. This book responded to a demand for authoritative English versions of Latin forms after the act of 1731 that replaced Latin with English as the language of the records. Holdsworth mentions this title in his discussion of eighteenth-century works on pleading. It was reissued in Dublin in 1738 and 1783. All three are scarce.
