He was the co-author of Trade Associations in Law and Business (1938). The letter reads: "Dear Harold Shapiro, I am more than pleased to hear of your appointment. You will carry with you into your new task my earnest wishes for your happiness; of your success I feel assured. Let me hear of your progress. Faithfully yours, Benjamin N. Cardozo." The photo caption reads (in part): "Justice Benjamin N. Cardozo of the U.S. Supreme Court shown as he arrived to attend a session of the fall term which opened recently. (...) Justice Cardozo is shown in an informal action pose as he arrives at the court in Washington, D.C. Oct. 12th."
