Main title page followed by lithograph pictorial title page. Moderate toning to text, occasional light foxing, (very) faint dampstaining in a few places. $500. * First edition. An interesting guide to the laws relating to women after the Bourbon Restoration in the form of a novel. (This may have been a ploy to attract a female audience; French women were assumed to be fond of novels.) A second edition was published in 1828. Guichard was a prolific author of legal treatises and popular guides to the law. Not in Camus. This edition not in the British Museum Catalogue.
