This treatise provides a detailed study of laws concerning uncultivated pasture (vaine pature), as well as open land, what the English call "waste land," and forests. It begins with laws in various coutumes and moves on to laws of the 1820s. The final chapter is a proposed code for the use of uncultivated land. A second edition was published in 1826. Both are scarce. OCLC locates 6 copies of the first edition, none in North America.
