Light shelfwear, moderate soiling and a few minor stains, some rubbing to edges of lettering pieces, preliminaries of Part I detached, crack in text block of Part II pp. 252 and 253. Light browning, upper corner of Leaf Dd2 (pp. 203-204) detached with minor loss to text, library stamps to title pages and a few other leaves, library marks to versos of title pages. $350. * Later editions. The first annotated English legal bibliography, it remains an important reference due to its excellent annotations, many gathered from leading authorities of the time, and comparative bibliographical information. Worrall, believed to be the first bookseller to specialize in law books, issued the first edition in 1732, and published numerous editions during his lifetime. Part I is organized by topic and then alphabetically. Topics include abridgments, indexes, tables, civil, ecclesiastical, and universal law, common and crown law, dictionaries, trade, navigation, reports, statutes and Irish and Scottish law books.
