A well-preserved copy. $250. * MacCabe (or McCabe) was the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Dublin from 1879 until his death and a Cardinal from 1882, a tumultuous period in Irish history. Though widely admired, he was often criticized by Irish Nationalist for his denunciation of agitation and support for the British government. This broadside was written by one of MacCabe's admirers. It praises his service to the Church, his eloquence and his devotion to the care of widows, orphans and the poor.
