This monumental commentary on Justinian's Digest, one of the four components of the Corpus Juris Civilis, was based on lectures by Lauterbach, a professor of law at the University of Tubingen. These lectures were published posthumously by Schutz in 1679 and they soon became a standard textbook in German law schools. Mollenbeck was a professor of law at the University of Giessen. In his edition, he added commentary from prominent German jurists, among them Jacob Friedrich Ludovici [1671-1723] and Samuel Stryk [1640-1710], and another text on the Digest by Lauterbach, the Compendium Digestorum. OCLC locates 1 copy of this edition in North America (UC-Berkeley Law School). Das Verzeichnis Deutscher Drucke des 18. Jahrhunderts 11067632-001.
