Light rubbing and a few minor spots, some wear to spine ends and corners, small chip to top-edge of rear cover. Light toning to interior, presentation inscription to Brandeis from Dunne to front free endpaper. $1,250. * Only edition. The inscription reads: "To Hon. Louis D. Brandeis/ with deepest/ respect and esteem/ James E. Dunne/ December 1938." A "token of deep esteem for a great race of wronged people," this is a collection of essays against the anti-Semitic atrocities of Nazi Germany and American Anti-Semitism. It also has a list of brief tributes to notable American Jews, which includes Brandeis. Dunne was a politician and civic leader in Louisville, Brandeis's hometown. OCLC locates 1 copy (Harvard).
