A few minor nicks and stains to boards, some wear to spine ends and corners, front joints starting, front free endpaper lacking. Moderate toning to interior, light foxing in a few places, offsetting from early signature on front free endpaper to front pastedown. An attractive copy. $400. * Reissue of the only edition (London 1792). Boscawan's book was intended to aid justices of the peace by stating the relevant rules on the enforcement of penal statutes that had been established by the judges. The book has two parts. The first part states these rules, the second gives a collection of precedents arranged alphabetically.
