The only commercially published oral history conducted with a Supreme Court justice, it traces his life, career and his thoughts on such topics as religion and the function of judges. Berdie Hellinger was probably the wife of Samuel Hellinger, a notable New York City lawyer who studied with Frankfurter at Harvard Law School.
