Contemporary paneled calf, gilt royal arms to boards, rebacked and recornered in period style with raised bands, blind fillets and lettering piece to spine, blind tooling to board edges, edges speckled red. Light rubbing to boards, a few small scuffs, nicks and scratches, faint dampstain to lower corner of rear board affecting last two leaves, moderate rubbing to board edges, corners slightly bumped, hinges cracked. Light toning to interior, light browning, foxing and soiling in a few places. An appealing copy. $500. * A collection of 30 acts passed in the third session of the sixth Parliament of Great Britain, with tables listing the titles of the public acts and summaries of 43 private acts. Some of the more interesting acts include the "Act for More Effectual Disarming the Highlands" after the Jacobite rising of 1719, several acts to do with debt relief and the so-called "Adulteration of Tea and Coffee Act," which forbade mixing tea or coffee with any other substances in order to preserve the Crown's tax revenue.
