Recent three-quarter calf over pebbled cloth boards, gilt institutional name and seal to boards, rebacked in calf with gilt fillets and title to spine, edges speckled red, endpapers and endleaves renewed. Moderate rubbing and light soiling to boards, moderate wear to calf, slight creasing and a few nicks to spine, rubbing to board edges, corners bumped and worn, small ink library stamp to front free endpaper, title pages and several other pages without loss to legibility. Moderate toning to interior, occasional light foxing. $500. * Only edition. This compilation of famous British criminal cases from 1740 to 1764 includes murders, attempted insurrections, robbery (including one carried out on the Thames) and the trial of a midwife for negligence.
