It is grouped into discernable categories, and most pages have section headings. Topics include biographies of notable Litchfield figures like Tapping Reeve and Oliver Wolcott, a brief history of the Litchfield Law School and an overview of important town buildings and events. Much of the text is comprised of fair copies from extant Litchfield histories published between 1859 and 1920. Some text (relating to early religious activity in the town) appears to be original, however, suggesting that the unknown author was preparing a new history of Litchfield.
