Contemporary sheep, blind rules to boards, raised bands, blind fillets, lettering piece and small ownership label (of "J.F. Breen") to spine. A few small scuffs and scratches to boards, light spotting to boards and spine, moderate rubbing to extremities, joints cracked, rear hinge starting slightly at head, corners bumped and somewhat worn, faint offsetting to preliminaries. Moderate toning to interior, occasional light foxing. $250. * Final edition. Angell was a Rhode Island legal scholar and prolific writer of treatises on a variety of topics. The first edition of this well-regarded work on actions was published in 1829. May, a Massachusetts lawyer and later Boston Municipal Court judge, began to revise the work with the third edition in 1854, after which at least two editions (including ours) appeared.
