This scarce trial report concerns the beating and false imprisonment of Thomas Watson by Carr. The latter claimed as his defense his position as Town Constable during the time of incident, and engaged Henry Brougham as his lawyer. The jury found for Watson and Carr was subject to a fine and court costs. Other copies we have seen have a different title page vignette depicting Newcastle's Guildhall.
