Contemporary sheep, blind frames to boards, rebacked in period-style calf with blind fillets and retained red and black lettering pieces. A few small scuffs and scratches to boards, which are slightly bowed, moderate rubbing to board edges, spine ends bumped, corners worn, hinges mended, faint offsetting to endleaves, early bookseller ticket to front pastedown. Moderate toning to interior, faint offsetting to edges of a few leaves. $350. * Later edition. This treatise on insolvency from a prolific California legal scholar "is intended to be useful to the judge, court officer, assignee and attorney, as well as the community at large" (Preface). It includes several sample schedules and forms for pleading. The first edition appeared in 1848 and the final edition in 1880.
