Contemporary vellum, later hand-lettered title to spine, fragments of thong ties. Light soiling, spine slightly darkened, a few minor stains, early repair to front hinge, upper outside corner lacking from front free endpaper, early owner inscription to its verso, vellum just beginning to crack through rear pastedown. Moderate toning to interior, faint dampstaining to fore-edges of final quarter of text block, light spotting and edgewear to endleaves, light soiling and faint spotting to title page of Part I. $1,750. * Second and final edition of a work first published in 1597. Ximenez lists concordances between the Corpus Juris Civilis in the first book and the Corpus Juris Canonici in the second. Both are subjected to a title-by-title analysis with additional references to primary texts in Spanish and civil law, such as Las Siete Partidas. There is also original commentary by Ximenez. A companion volume, designated Pars Secunda, was published in 1619. Both editions and the companion vol.
