[With] [Gainsborough, Thomas (1727-1788), After]. [Hall, J., Engraver]. [Portrait of Blackstone]. [Oxford, 1775]. 7-1/4" x 4-3/4" copperplate leaf mounted on 11-1/4" x 8-1/2" sheet. Light toning and a few faint fox-spots to image, moderate toning to sheet, a few minor tears to its edges. Walker, a prominent Oxfordshire attorney and town clerk of Oxford, was a professional associate and friend. The portrait is a frontispiece from a copy of the seventh edition of the Commentaries.
