Contemporary speckled calf, calf, blind rules to boards, rebacked in period-style calf with raised bands, blind fillets and lettering piece to spine, blind tooling to board edges, hinges neatly mended. Moderate rubbing, a few small nicks and light gatoring to boards, somewhat heavier rubbing to board edges, corners just bumped and lightly worn, faint offsetting to endleaves, a few very brief early annotations to pastedowns. Moderate toning to interior, occasional light foxing, small clean tear to fore-edge of leaf a4 (pp. v-vi) just touching text without loss, small tear to top-edge of leaf F3 (pp. 65-66) not affecting text. $150. * Only edition. This compilation of British acts pertaining to Scotland was designed "only for the Use of our own Countrymen, yet being intended for the universal Behoof of all of them of whatever profession" (Preface). A stand-alone work, it was designed as a continuation of Sir James Stewart's popular abridgments.
