Contemporary calf, rebacked in period style, blind rules to boards, blind fillets along joints, blind tooling to board edges, raised bands, lettering piece, blind fillets and gilt publication date to spine, hinges mended. Minor nicks, scuffs and tiny stains to boards, moderate rubbing to board edges, corners bumped, early owner signature (Wm. Orde) to front and rear pastedowns. Moderate toning to interior, faint dampspotting to a few leaves. $400. * Later edition. First published in 1641, the "authorship of this treatise is ascribed to Mr. Justice Dodderidge, though the work is commonly Known as Wentworth's Executors. It constitutes the foundation of all similar productions of the kind, and has always been regarded as a high authority in these matters" (Marvin).
