Moderate toning, very light foxing and soiling, horizontal and vertical fold lines, portions excised from left margin, large clean tear and small hole affecting text without loss to legibility. $1,250. * A broadside announcing William of Orange's intent to call a "Free Parliament for the Preservation of the Protestant Religion, and restoring the Rights and Liberties of the Kingdom" following the Glorious Revolution of 1688. By this time, James II had fled to France, and many were advocating for William's accession to the throne. Ultimately, the convention, which became known as the Convention Parliament, decided that James had abandoned the throne and installed William and Mary as King and Queen.
