Recent quarter calf over marbled boards, blind fillets to calf edges, gilt fillets and title to spine, endpapers renewed. Light rubbing and slight fading to spine. Light toning to interior, light soiling and very light foxing in a few places, very light edgewear to first few leaves, tear to bottom-edge of f. 16 not affecting text, early annotations to ff. 17-19. $750. * Only edition. This compilation of Scottish acts covers the sixteenth through twentieth parliaments of James VI from 1600-1609. He became James I of Great Britain and Ireland and removed to England in 1603. Highlights include acts regulating bishops and other religious leaders and an "Act Against Skandalous Speeches and Lybels." The annotations to our copy are brief glosses.
