Moderate rubbing and light soiling to boards, light fading and faint dampstain to front board, which is separating but secured by cords, somewhat heavier rubbing to extremities, spine ends abraded, joints cracked, corners bumped and worn. Light toning to interior, light foxing to a few pages, cracks in text block between pp. viii-i and 128-129, all leaves secure, small correction in an early hand to p. 187. A popular and useful work, the first edition appeared in 1786 and the tenth and final edition in 1832-1833. Palmer was the author of a number of popular legal manuals on practice and pleading.
