Contemporary sheep, blind rules to boards, raised bands, blind fillets and later hand-lettered paper label to spine, blind tooling to board edges. Light rubbing and a few scuffs, nicks, scratches and gouges to boards, which are bowed, moderate rubbing to extremities, foot of spine chipped, rear joint starting at foot, corners bumped and worn, hinges cracked, pastedowns loose. Light toning to interior, very light foxing to a few leaves, several cracks or partial cracks to text block, all leaves secure, brief early annotations (references to other reporters) to a few pages. $500. * Only edition.
