Rare. $850. * Second edition. These accounts of trials at the Kent assizes cover a wide range of offenses, including rape, arson, robbery, assault and "sending several threatening Letters." The most extensive account is the trial of Stephen Barret and Joseph Gregory for abducting and assaulting John Clarke on the orders of rival farmer John Collington, who had hired a third man to set fire to the unlucky Mr. Clarke's barn.
