"Though called Judge Godbolt's Reports, this person seems only to have been the owner of the Ms. from which the work was printed. (...) I do not suppose them to be all by the same hand. As I have seen no judicial criticism of this book, I content myself with noting that a reputable text-writer, Mr. Bingham, speaks of it as 'a respectable authority'." (Wallace).
