Chap. 22 (An Act for Erecting a New Parish...) has a general title page dated 1686 and separate pagination and register. Folio (11" x 7"). Contemporary calf, blind rules to boards, rebacked with gilt fillets, title and date to spine, gilt tooling to board edges, hinges mended. Light rubbing and a few scuffs, nicks, scratches and stains to boards, moderate rubbing to board edges, corners bumped and worn, later bookplate (of William Orde, Nunnykirk) to front pastedown. Light toning to interior, faint dampstaining to top-edge, light foxing and soiling in a few places, early ownership signature (of Lancelott Ord) to head of first title page. $650. * A collection of twenty-two public acts from the first year of the reign of James II with a table listing the public acts and the titles of 8 additional acts not printed in full. Among the more interesting acts are several dealing with infrastructure and public land and the act of attainder against the Duke of Monmouth after his failed Protestant uprising.
