Jedel and Frankfurter met in the Roosevelt administration, where Jedel was an assistant to Raymond Moley [1886-1975]. Moley and Frankfurter were both members of Roosevelt's informal "Brain Trust" and he regarded Jedel as a reliable asset with "an extraordinarily brilliant mind" (Lash).
