Contemporary calf, blind rules to boards, blind fillets along joints, raised bands and lettering piece to spine, gilt tooling to board edges. Light rubbing and some shallow scuffing to boards, front board separated but secured by cords, moderate rubbing to extremities, heat damage to spine with resulting gatoring to spine and front joint, chipping to spine ends, rear joint starting at ends, corners bumped, upper corner of rear board worn, rear hinge starting, faint offsetting to endleaves. Moderate toning to interior, occasional light foxing, light soiling in a few places. $350. * A collection of 29 acts passed in the third session of the sixth Parliament of Great Britain, with tables listing the titles of the public acts and summaries of 43 private acts. (A total of 30 acts were passed during the session; the Land Tax Act of 1724 (c. 1) is not included in our volume.) Some of the more interesting acts include the "Act for More Effectual Disarming the Highlands" after the Jacobite rising of 1719, several acts to do with debt relief and the so-called "Adulteration of Tea and Coffee Act," which forbade mixing tea or coffee with any other substances in order to preserve the Crown's tax revenue. Also included is An Additional Book of Rates, which accompanies a taxation act. English Short-Title Catalogue N50436.
