Reflections was the Sixth Annual Benjamin N. Cardozo Lecture delivered before the Association of the Bar on March 18, 1947. The inscription reads: "For my dearly beloved / Eustace Percy, / as a messenger of affection / from his silent but devoted / Felix." Eustace Sutherland Campbell Percy [1887-1958], Baron Percy of Newcastle, was a distinguished diplomat, politician and educator. Frankfurter and Brandeis met him, as well as Arthur Balfour, in Paris in 1919 to discuss the future of Jews in Palestine.
