Picton with the kind regards of The Author" and brief annotation in the same hand to front wrapper. $125. * Only edition. A brief account of the life of William Garnet [c.1390-1465], serjeant-at-law for Chester and Flint and one of the first lawyers to practice in Warrington, written by a solicitor and Warrington native. James Allanson Picton [1805-1889], the recipient of this copy, was an English antiquary and architect with a particular interest in public libraries.
