Light toning, horizontal fold lines. Content in neat hand, docketed on verso. $250. * A fine example of of an early eighteenth-century eviction order. Issued to one William Willett Thomas of Cawrythenack house in the parish of Constenton i.e. Constantine, on behalf of Harriet Maria and Jane Hill by the receiver appointed by the High Court, James Plomer, it ordered Thomas to "deliver and yield up to me the aforesaid receiver the quiet and peaceful possession" of the mansion house, gardens, fields, and premises... [of Cawrythenack House]. A further note at the foot of the document in a different hand, signed "J. Kerby," states that the notice was served to Mr Thomas and a copy was affixed to the front door of the mansion.
