It was dissolved in 1995. The firm was later known as Nixon, Mudge, Rose, Guthrie, & Alexander; and was later renamed Mudge, Rose, Guthrie & Alexander. The firm is best known as the relaunching pad of Richard Nixon's career. In 1967, the firm of Caldwell, Trimble & Mitchell, where John N. Mitchell was lead partner, merged with this firm. Mitchell went on to become chairman of Nixon's 1968 and 1972 presidential campaigns and Nixon's attorney general.
