This is a single-volume version of Foss's monumental nine-volume Judges of England [1848-64]. It contains corrections and the addition of judges appointed after 1864, comprising altogether more than 1600 lives, and has the advantage of an alphabetical instead of the chronological order of the original. This, along with its multi-volume version, is a valuable companion to the Year Books. According to Lawyer.com, Tarbox was a Minneapolis lawyer who lived in St. Paul.
