Gilbert was a prolific author, but this is his only work on wills. It was first published in 1756. A well-written work, its scope includes equity rules. This copy was probably owned by Edmund Francis Trabue [1855-1936], a partner in a prominent Louisville, KY law firm, Pirtle & Trabue, later a judge.
