Published in Australia in 1940, the year after his death, it was created by his widow, Bertie J. Cohen. Over the course of his life, Cohen worked as an engineer, architect, and barrister. He served for many years as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly and was elected Speaker in 1917. Judicial career: He retired from politics to become a District Court judge in 1919 and served in that role until 1929. The presenter was Bertie J. Cohen (1865-1947), philanthropist and widow of the subject of the book, Judge John Jacob Cohen.
