Denman was a successful barrister and MP who is best remembered for his representation of Luddite activists and Queen Caroline. He served as Lord Chief Justice from 1832-1850. Subsequent editions, none with edition statements, in 1830, 1832 and 1852. A "new edition, revised, corrected and enlarged" with a different title was published by George Virtue in the 1830s with revisions by Thomas Jonathan Wooler [1786-1853]. Wooler's editions appeared from c.1834 to 1845. They are not attributed to Denman but have the frontispiece of Denman that appears in this volume (updated to reflect his status as Lord Chief Justice). OCLC and Library Hub locate 6 copies of all editions by Denman, 1 of the first edition (Harvard Law School). Our copy differs from the Harvard Law School copy, which lists a pagination of 1055.
