Original publisher's cloth with decorative gilt stamping, deckle edges. Light rubbing to boards, fraying to spine ends, corners bumped and somewhat worn, hinges starting, crack in text block between frontispiece and title page, early owner stamp (F.R. Taylor) to half-title. Light toning to interior, light foxing in a few places. A good copy. $150. * "New and revised" edition, the first with plates and text illustrations by Harry Furniss. Edited by the author's son, this is the most lavish edition of the classic satire ever published. It was first issued in parts with pictorial wrappers from 1886-1887; compiled trade editions in cloth were published in 1887. The binder of our copy retained the wrapper from Part 5.
