Light toning, faint spotting and dampstaining to margins. Very good. $100. * This caricature of John Horne Tooke [1736-1812], best-known for his support for the radical reform of Parliament, appeared in Volume I of The Attic Miscellany; Or, Characteristic Mirror of Men and Things, Including the Correspondent's Museum, a publication that ran from 1789 to 1792. The image depicts Tooke trampling the Mace of the House of Commons, which is displayed when it is in session.
